High Speed Impact in Mall Parking Lot
Cheyenne (Cheyenne Police Dept) -- On Saturday, May 3, at about 7:51 p.m., officers from the Cheyenne Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Frontier Mall, 1400 Dell Range Blvd. A store security officer saw nineteen year old Krystal Breton shoplifting in the mall. The security officer followed her to her car in the parking lot north of the mall. Breton got into her car and drove off. As she was driving through the parking lot, in an attempt to get away, she hit a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by twenty eight year old Andrea Gonzales of Cheyenne. Gonzales had her two small children in the back seat of the car. Her vehicle was flipped on its side from the impact. The children were immediately removed, but the windshield had to be removed to get Andrea Gonzales from the car by rescue workers. Breton, Gonzales and her children were all transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released. A passenger in Breton's vehicle, nineteen year old Hollie Diamond of Cheyenne, refused medical treatment at the scene.
Gonzales and her children were properly restrained in her vehicle at the time of the crash. Neither Breton nor Diamond was wearing seatbelts.
Breton was charged with shoplifting and reckless driving.
